I was not at school on Friday but in class they made sushi.

Addictions to phones

Whether a student is addicted to their phone or not, entirely depends on who they are, the way they think and their life in general. Some students may use their phone to aid their learning in ways such as a calculator for math or to research something. Some other students may be addicted to their phone and use it in times where it is inconvenient. Depending on how addicted they are to their phone equals how big of an issue it could be. Issues that could occur could be something such as an issue with socializing and their education/not paying attention. Although students may be addicted, I feel it is only really a problem if their behaviour is hugely affected.

Home Economics - Week 5 Fish n Chips

Last week in home economics we made fish n chips. To start off each group were given potatoes but since our teacher wanted to try different stuff, my group was given a different type of potato. We had to cut them into resonable sizes of chips and then put them in oil and salt and pepper as well as a bit of seasoning. after that we spread them out evenly on a tray with baking paper and put them in the oven because they needed a while to cook. While we waited for the chips to cook we cut the fish into chunky bite sizes and dried them with a paper towel. Once we did that we mixed in lemon juice and panko breadcrumbs and put mayonaise on top of the fish. We dipped the top of the fish into the breadcrumbs and put those in the oven too. We made a cone from baking paper to put our food into to hold it. The recipe idea was from My Food Bag.

Social Studies

In social studies, we made a presentation on how things were done in the olden days compared to the technology we have to help now. It was pretty annoying to begin with having to come up with 20 different ideas but later on, Mrs. Handley changed it to a lot less but Dylan and I had already done 20 so that was cool. It was really fun making it pretty and everything, honestly the highlight of my day making it look good. The photos were cool too though.

Art

In art we have been recreating different art styles from across different countries. We've practiced techniques such as glazing, blending, creating texture and using monoprinting in painting.

Home economics - Week 3 Jam Drops

In Home Economics my group and I made Jam drops. I worked in a group with Memory, Connor and Molly. We managed to get stuff done fast and certain people stuck to working on something which was really efficient so we got everything done as well as cleaning while we were cooking. There was some mucking around but I don't think it was too bad. While we were putting the jam in we were told we put too much in the cookies or that the cookies were an uneven size so it took more time trying to fix that.

I think that they were pretty good especially for our first time making them and I think my team agrees bc they did taste pretty good. I think next time we should probably try be more accurate with measurements or be more prepared at the start of the lesson.

What is the difference between a 'wet cell battery' and a 'dry cell battery'.
→A wet cell battery is a rechargeable battery that contains a liquid electrolyte such as sulfuric acid. It is commonly used in aircraft, cellphone towers, electronic utilities, and energy storage.


→A dry cell battery does not have any liquid and is typically used for portable electronics such as a phone.
